Save the Night | Be the Solution, Stop Light Pollution

Join professional astronomers for a guided tour of Nantucket’s night sky.
Look Up is a special version of the Open Night program of the Maria Mitchell Association that is FREE for Nantucket students and their families. Programs take place at 59 Milk Street Extension.
Thursdays 6:30pm to 7:30pm in November and December (through Dec. 15). For more details and the link to register, visit https://www.mariamitchell.org/open-nights.
Contest Entry Guidelines
★ Open to students on Nantucket in preschool through grade 8.
★ Submissions should be approximately 12”x18” in a landscape orientation. No frames or mats, please.
★ Drawings, paintings and digital art / digital photography, etc. are all welcome.
★ Entries must be submitted by Thursday November 17, 2022.
★ Entries should be dropped off between 9am and 4pm on November 14-17 at either the Nantucket Conservation Foundation (118 Cliff Road) or the Artists Association of Nantucket's Visual Art Center (24 Amelia Drive).
★ The art should be about the night sky, creatures that are active at night, or the study of the stars and planets.
★ One entry per student.
★ Complete the entry form (available here) and tape it to the back of the art with a single 1” piece of scotch tape.
★ ENTRY FORM MUST INCLUDE PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN RELEASE SIGNATURE TO ENTER THE CONTEST.
★ All entries will be returned after the ANN exhibit ends.
★ Prizes will be presented at the Opening Reception for the AAN exhibit, which will be on January 14 at 12-4pm.
