Save the Night | Be the Solution, Stop Light Pollution
Even if your parking area lights are on a motion sensor or otherwise exempt from the bylaw, we encourage you to use fully shielded fixtures, 2400K or less, and 1500 lumens or less per fixture. That would be the most dark-sky and neighbor friendly thing to do.
* Note that there is a limit on the total lumens allowed for all fixtures (combined) that aren't fully shielded (see Section 102-4C(2)). For this reason, we recommend using fully shielded fixtures, whenever possible.
Exception:
Parking area lights used for safety and security that are on only temporarily (e.g., on a motion sensor) are not subject to these restrictions. (Section 102-7C)
* These fixtures count towards the total lumens allowed per site (see Section 102-4C(1)).
Exception:
Parking area lights used for safety and security that are on only temporarily (e.g., on a motion sensor) are not subject to these restrictions. (Section 102-7C)
